IN CHAMBER PRESSURE VARIATION

The indirect pressure variation method (also known as interception or compliance method) enables to measure the leak of a piece inserted inside a test chamber by measuring the pressure variation in the chamber.
This method is used to perform test on sealed components or to test at high pressure where safety needs to be assured.

  • The system allows a sensitivity 10 times higher compared to the traditional decay pressure methods.
  • The system allows tests at very high pressures.
  • The system is very fast compared to other method.
  • To protected against large leaks in the tested piece that could mess the test result a volumetric test is normally performed during the settling time.
  • Disavantages

    • the mechanical part is complex and expensive;
    • special-shaped pieces and big sizes pieces make the method difficult and not feasable to be implemented;
